Community outreach is defined as is an activity of providing services to any populations who might not otherwise have access to those services. In a time run by fake news, incorrect social media posts, and a political structure that does not support the sciences; it is essential for environmental entities to have a structured community outreach plan. The purpose of this Capstone Project is to create a book that is a "How To" guide for creating community outreach plans, and strengthening the Public Relations program at any Environmental Science agency. This will include the importance in educating the public on local ecology and environmental programs. The book will be using examples of the New Jersey Pinelands ecology, as well as New Jersey coastal ecology as a guide, but it will include practices that can be used in any ecosystem. A key component of outreach is that the groups providing it are not stationary, but mobile; in other words they are meeting those in need of outreach services at the locations where those in need are. In addition to delivering services, outreach has an educational role, raising the awareness of existing services.
